It's important as a photographer to shoot for personal growth and art, not just for the cha-ching!
At WPPI many speakers talked about the importance of shooting for fun, for practice and for art on top of the work we are paid for. Since my return I have been brainstorming for weeks about what I would like to do for a personal project...
This is when it hit me...
I was having dinner with some fellow photographers the other night and I was listening to New York's Jason Groupp talk about his favourite photograph of his dad-read his blog post here and see the image, it's a great story!
Listening to him describe the image it reminded me so much of my favourite photograph of my dad. This is where I came up with the idea to launch my Personal Photography Project called...
Then and Now
Watch the video to see what we are doing!
I would love to see your photos, hear your ideas. Looking forward to working with many of you on this project. I hope you will help my achieve my goal!

Denise

This is such an awesome idea, Denise! I can't wait to see what you do with it!!
I think it will be fun to do as a project. It will be more than trying to replicate the image itself, but the whole process will conjure memories from deep within.
Best of luck.
